Alterra-managed Syndicate 2526 is planning to expand its capacity
by almost 60 percent for 2011, The Insurance
Insider can reveal.
The expansion plan is the latest indication that many Lloyd's
syndicates will defy the soft market by maintaining or even
increasing their capacity despite this year's record aggregate
of £23bn.
This comes against a backdrop of softening rates across most lines
and geographies, with only the energy and political risk classes
moving significantly in the opposite direction.
