2010 may be the year that the airline insurance market returns to profit - but dents were made in the sector's loss ratio with two crashes in July.

The AirBlue passenger plane that crashed in heavy monsoon rain in Islamabad on 28 July was led by Catlin, The Insurance Insider revealed. Willis is understood to have placed the coverage for the private airliner, carrying 146 passengers and six crew, with an estimated $35mn hull value.
