Stanford to stand solo in criminal trial
Disgraced Texas financier Allen Stanford will stand alone in his
criminal trial scheduled for 24 January 2011, while his
co-defendants and former senior Stanford Financial Group (SFG)
executives will be tried separately.
Stanford and Laura Pendergest-Holt, Mark Kuhrt and Gilbert Lopez are accused of orchestrating a $7bn Ponzi scheme. They have pleaded not guilty to the various charges under a 21-count criminal indictment.
