The London reinsurance market is gearing itself up for a potential legal battle over claims relating to the US energy giant Sempra, The Insurance Insider understands.
The threatened litigation - which focuses on proximate cause and whether a loss is elemental (natural perils) or non-elemental - would be the latest turn in the controversial claims dispute, which dates back to October 2007's Californian wildfires.
