The airline insurance market has continued to shrink in 2012 as the industry's unusually benign loss record has a downward effect on rates, despite insurers underwriting more exposure risk.
The 42 renewals over June and July produced just $197.43mn in net premium, a 10 percent drop from the same period in 2011. The 93 renewals from January to July generated almost $430mn in net premium.
