$25bn Starr against AIG and US government to proceed war

Starr International can proceed with legal action against the US government over its 2008 bailout of American International Group (AIG), the Court of Federal Claims has ruled.

In a 2 July filing, Judge Thomas Wheeler rejected the government's bid to dismiss the case.

Starr is seeking damages of at least $25bn from the government as it claims the bailout failed to compensate AIG shareholders fairly, including Starr, which is led by AIG's former CEO Hank Greenberg.
