Starr International can proceed with legal action against the US
government over its 2008 bailout of American International Group
(AIG), the Court of Federal Claims has ruled.
In a 2 July filing, Judge Thomas Wheeler rejected the
government's bid to dismiss the case.
Starr is seeking damages of at least $25bn from the government as
it claims the bailout failed to compensate AIG shareholders fairly,
including Starr, which is led by AIG's former CEO Hank
Greenberg.
