Broker Aon has agreed to pay $16.3mn to US regulators and
prosecutors to settle a case over bribes allegedly paid in
developing countries.
The settlement includes a $1.76mn criminal fine to be paid to the
Department of Justice as part of a non-prosecution agreement and
about $14.55mn due to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The case relates to payments made in overseas
jurisdictions, predominantly countries in the Middle East and Asia,
between 1983 and 2007.
