Transocean blames BP (surprise surprise)
A series of decisions made by oil giant BP in the two weeks leading
up to the Macondo blowout compromised the integrity of the well,
and compounded the likelihood of its failure, according to an
internal report released by Deepwater Horizon rig owner Transocean
on 22 June.
As the well operator, BP was culpable for a succession of
well-design, construction and temporary abandonment decisions that
ultimately lead to the blowout, the report claimed.
